Frenchy, not expensive and acceptable food, Bouillon Julien can be a choice for people going to theater in the area or budgeted tourists.
Situated near the Grande Boulevard area in the center of Paris, Bouillon Julien has a New Art Decoration dated from the beginning of last century. Edith Piaf used to sit at the table 24. Some films like the Mome and Chocolate were shoot here. It is listed as historical monument since 1997. The dinning room is narrow and long which make it quite noisy. This is one of the weak point of the restaurant.
The type of food is like that we cook at home, not fancy, quite simple. The choices in the menu are limited but the prices are very good.The main course is from 10€ to 14€. For example , take 6 escargots as starter with main course and dessert is under 25€.
This delicious Bouillon Julien reminds me of my time in Hong Kong. It tasts like the good Chinese stew beef noodle soup 原汁牛腩麵. Only that there is no noodles in it. You better order a side dish to eat with. Next time, I need to order this item take away and add noodle to make my favourite beef noodle soup.
The bistro is opened everyday and all hours starting from noon. Another choice for those whom eat late lunch or early diner.
