Many customers asked me what type of transport tickets they should buy in Paris. I may as well share it here with all travelers.

SINGLE TICKETS
The most commonly used option is the single Metro-Train-RER ticket, which has replaced the former Ticket+. This ticket can be used on the metro (subway), RER trains, and suburban (Île-de-France) trains. It allows for one ride, regardless of the distance traveled (zone 1 to zone 5), and is valid for 2 hours from the time of entry. However, once you exit the metro system, the ticket can no longer be reused. Please note that this ticket cannot be used for travel to the airports.
Price is 2.5€ per ticket. You may download on the Navigo easy card. The card cost 2€ and it is reusable.

Since January 2025, a new single ticket, the Ticket Bus-Tram, has been introduced. This ticket can be on both buses and trams, allowing . Passengers to transfer between buses or between a bus and a tram. However, it can not be used for return trips. Each ticket is valid for a maximum travel duration of 90 minutes.
Price is 2€ per ticket. You may download on the Navigo easy card. The card cost 2€ and it is reusable.
To go to the airport Orly by M14 or Roissy Charles de Gaulle by RER B, need to buy a special ticket which is 13€.
DAY TICKET
The Mobilis ticket or Navigo Jour is a single-day ticket that allows unlimited travel within Île-de-France, excluding airport routes. It can be used on various types of transportation, including the metro, RER, and suburban trains, just like the Metro-Train-RER ticket. The cost is €12 per ticket.
With the Mobilis card, you can enjoy the freedom of unlimited travel throughout the day, hopping on and off public transport whenever you like. It’s perfect for travelers who want flexibility and convenience.

The Navigo Easy card can hold different types of tickets, such as Ticket Metro-RER-Train, Ticket Bus-Tram or Navigo Jour (Daily unlimited ticket). However, It can not be combined with the airport ticket on the same card.
Week Pass
If you’re staying in Paris for more than three days and plan to use public transportation frequently, the weekly pass could be a great option. Keep in mind that the weekly pass is valid from Monday to Sunday, regardless of the day you start using it.
The weekly pass costs €31.60 and allows unlimited travel within zones 1 to 5, including trips to both CDG and Orly airports.
Note: The weekly travel card is a reusable plastic card that can be recharged. To obtain one, you’ll need an ID photo. The card itself costs €5 and is valid for up to 10 years.

Where to Buy tickets or Passes
Tickets and passes can be purchased from ticket machines in metro stations or at the information counters. To save time and avoid queues, you can also download the Île-de-France Mobilités app on your phone to buy tickets conveniently.
The carton ticket will not be used starting 2026.
