Ferment Restaurant: A Neighborhood Spot with Heart

Coming again to Ferment, a small, cozy bistro on my way to Montmartre. It’s a tiny place with just over 20 seats, so it feels like you’re dining in someone’s living room. There’s something about the relaxed vibe that instantly makes you feel at home.

The menu is really straightforward – just two starters, three main courses (meat, fish, and a veggie option), and two desserts. Nothing fancy, but everything feels thoughtfully prepared. The starters, in particular, are often made with extra care, and you can tell the chef enjoys what they do.

The service? Super friendly and casual, like chatting with a neighbor. I love that.

As for the food, I enjoyed it. The main course was simple but tasty, though I have to admit the chocolate cream dessert was a bit heavy for my liking this time. Maybe just a bit too rich, but I’m sure some would love it.

The lunch prices are great too: €22 for two courses, or €25 for three. Honestly, it’s hard to beat that kind of value in the area.

One small detail I really appreciated: the WC is on the ground floor, so no stairs. It’s a thoughtful touch for anyone who might have trouble getting around.

Overall, Ferment is a lovely little spot to grab a meal without any fuss. The food is honest, the people are kind, and it’s a place that feels like part of the community. If you’re looking for a simple, satisfying meal, I’d definitely recommend giving it a try.
